I can do all things through Him who strengthens me
A prayer board is positioned in the Memorial chapel adjacent to the Lady Chapel on the south side of the church. You can place your prayers there for your family, friends and loved ones, and those who are on your heart and your mind. They will be read at every service for two weeks.
Here are some prayers you may wish to use.
A Prayer for those whose lives have been effected by the fire in Kensington
We pray for those who have died, and for those who grieve;
For those who have been hurt, and those who bring healing;
For those who are now homeless, and those who seek to offer them hospitality and shelter;
For those who work in the emergency services and their families.
We make our prayers in Jesus' name, Amen.
A Prayer for Family Life
God of compassion, whose Son Jesus Christ, the child of Mary, shared the life of a home in Nazareth, and on the cross drew the whole human family to himself: strengthen us in our daily living that in joy and in sorrow we may know the power of your presence to bind together and to heal; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer for the Cold, Homeless and all refugees.
God of compassion, your love for humanity was revealed in Jesus, whose earthly life began in the poverty of a stable and ended in the pain and isolation of the cross: we hold before you those who are homeless and cold especially in this bitter weather. Draw near and comfort them in spirit and bless those who work to provide them with shelter, food and friendship.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
A Prayer for those in Pain
Lord God, whose Son, Jesus Christ, understood people's fears and pain before they spoke of them, we pray for those who suffer pain and distress; surround the frightened with your tenderness; give strength to those in pain; hold the weak in your arms of love, and give hope and patience to those who are recovering; we ask this through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord.
